Dead Boys and Frozen Girls
(With apologies to Richard Calder)

Through the frosted glass shines a moon
So blue! Blue as yesterdays dreams -
 Blue as a heartache.
         Cold, silvery radiance diffused
 Freezing. Fragmented. Like my dreams.
Cold as a stainless steel magnolia,
Forgotten hopes on gossamer wings; fly.
Deep within black satin sheets your ghost moans,
Tangled in our passions and our deceits,
My soul - fused like obsidian - reflects
         The sky weeping poison...
 The tears of mad angels.
         Dark crystal lattices grow,
 And cage my unbeating heart.

Ice radiates from the matrix of my being
         Where mad faeries once flitted,
 And drowned in the absinthe of your eyes;
The shadows call your name as I wallow
In the dying embers of desire.
         I must scream now!
But you... you took my voice.

 Your heartbeat overwhelms my senses
     Like thunder in the sky,
Like the travesty of lost innocence
     The innocence of my guilt:
Impaled on my dark needs I quiver,
     Pleasure is pain!
 And the pain is dreadful...
