The
Head Ward
A shy smile greets your look as small hands curl around the drink
Coffee sucked through a straw
While an old man farts on the other side of the room
Bustling white dresses with red epaulets
Bossing you if you need it taking temperatures
And blood pressures
Bringing in security for one that doesn't want the medication he
needs
Satin dressing gowns are flowing wide on arthritic limbs
White hair cascading over satin
Gowns encasing youthful limbs
Faces young, angry, calm and accepting
Gazing occasionally at the woods outside
Creeping out to talk to the ducks and watch the 'normal people'
This place has no respect for age, sex or colour
You are all here because there is no respector in Ward 28
