Who
Bright nuts ripen
I sit and watch
as stars circle
held in birch embrace
Who am I
to taste waters of well
grasp cold, slipp'ry salmon
breathe fire in sunset
here among the hazels
where Gods walk?
Who am I
to shape patterns of speech
ride fleet wisdom
swifter than racehorses
here among rivers
where Gods drink?
Who am I
weaving word withies
crying crane's calls
swimming seals' skins
here in a heart
where Gods dwell?
Bright nuts all
I sit and watch
as stars circle
held in birch embrace.
