YOU ARE NOT
RISING & FALLING
ILLUMININATION

MINE
I DON'T KNOW

AND I THOUGHT

AT SCHOOL

HELLO

       MINE

Long hair and a beard confuse onlookers' minds
And as two pretty small girls
  In new dresses look apprehensively
  At the crossing
  An old man offers sweets
A fat bottomed matron glares and is about to move
I stoop and a small girl runs into my arm
  Another, older, grabs my hand
A matron stops and turns back

     I DON'T KNOW

     What this world may bring
To you as you go through it
     Mountains of books to read
Hundreds of kisses to get, maybe
     Hands to hold
     Adventures to have
     Marathons to run
     Games to win

Businesses to run and to build up
     Wedding rings and clothes
     Dreams and Divorces
     Children and goats
     Smelly little creeps
     Butterfly kisses to get
     Then gone

     Fly high fly well
For this world is yours now
     It is your generation
Remember sometimes who handed it to you
And that others will follow you
     But enjoy it
     It is yours now.
