LITERARY AWARDS
accolades for the Scribble
poets
The whole point of Scribble,
is the Scribble Poets. For this reason, I decided to look only for awards
that are directly to do with creativity or the art of writing and
which will not yield us contact with other writers and publishers. Therefore
there are some elegant and prestigious awards for which I am not applying,
on the simple grounds that the sites they lead to lead rather to links
and other awards, than to more literature. I am looking for such awards
as will reflect my own admiration of the poets who are published on Scribble,
but at the same time have become aware that for you to receive the best
of them, I am going to have to be much sharper than I have been. So I delayed
that exercise till I could match your standards. Ironic then, that
the first accolade for the Scribble Poets should be one I had not
applied for at all.
NOTE: From time to time
sites go down. Where a link is unreachable for longer than a few days I
remove it but leave the image and remarks in place until such time as the
site is restored or I receive confirmation that it is unlikely to be back.
A site mentioned on these pages, but unlinked may well be back soon.

Your web-site is exceptionally fine,
with such a wealth of poetry that, I confess, I haven't yet seen all there
is to absorb and enjoy.
You can be sure I'll visit regularly.

Jackie's poetry is delicate, on occasion brittle, and terse. Yet it is
also finely observed, and peaceful. This is a site to which I have returned,
more than once, and an award I am proud to receive on behalf of our poets.

The site is not stylish until you
begin to read the poetry. This is engrossing, open hearted, beautifully
written verse. Evocative, elliptic, subtle poetry Todd has an apparently
light surety, which draws one to read, poem after poem, image after image,
with a growing sense of love and delicacy. |

it when one creates a forum for writers on the Internet. The poems that
you have posted were very good; I spent a lot of time reading through the
vast amount of work.

the artist Yoshitora, created close to the end of the Tokugawa period
of Japan, 1866, is from the series, "Biographies
of the Loyal and Faithful Samurai (47 Ronin).
