Bunyip
The granite ripples as if
it were water
And it is water, for the
Earth flows and ripples -
So what is flesh, what is
blood?
The serpent ripples in the
stone
And the sky in the scales
-
The clouds and the zenith
moving
Round pools in the skin, sky
in the pools
The sun falls behind the
mountain -
Snake of water, stone and
sky
Life, a form of life, life
everlasting
But even this must die -
Where is the one who made
the stone?
His blood and flesh are like
the stone
But harder - his blood is
like the water,
But it flows forever
