Reminiscence
I remember
Carefree childhood,
When the littlest of things
And the modest mattered.
I remember childhood adventures,
When I enjoyed crossing fences
Across cultural and racial boundaries
Without any reservations.
I remember
The teen years
When I knew everything
About life.
I remember through the adult years,
When full enjoyment of life
Was checked by lack
Of childhood simplicity.
